Hearwall
Public demo, typical windows

Is STC 32 worth $300 more than STC 27? Hear it.

Four typical window packages, from builder-grade double pane to a laminated acoustic unit. Pick a sound, press play, and switch windows while it plays. Curves are typical for each class; a manufacturer's laboratory report replaces them exactly.

🎧 Headphones or good speakers recommended. Laptop speakers cannot reproduce the low frequencies where these windows differ most. Set a comfortable volume with the window open, then compare.

Real level is what you would hear indoors. Loudness matched removes the volume drop so you hear only which frequencies each window lets through: two windows with the same STC can sound different.

What each window takes out of each sound

A-weighted reduction, dB

Reduction computed from the laboratory 1/3-octave transmission loss and the measured spectrum of each recording (siren and cry: typical spectra), the same method ASTM E1332 uses for OITC. 10 dB is roughly half as loud.
